And since students in 4th grade are busy learning about biomes and animals adaptations, we thought perhaps we should find out about the oldest instruments ever unearthed by archeologists and see how those instruments have changed to the instruments we play today.  One example of that is a lithophone - a kind of instrument made from ringing rocks. Students in 3rd grade are performing instrumental accompaniment for their first playing test. And students in 2nd grade are dancing with a call and response song from Africa, called Che Che Koolay.  Check the links to see and sing and learn more!

Do you ever listen to a piece of music and think that you know where you heard it before?  That's a question that students in 4th and 5th grade have been asking as we learn more about composer of the month, Antonin Dvorak.  Dvorak's music has been used in many movies and TV shows.  But it also inspired many other composers to write music that sounds very similar.  Check out the links below and see what you think.
