Kindergarten and 1st Grade resources
Since most of our classes got to watch some of "Mary Poppins" for Music Fun Day, here is a video link so you can sing along with Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Black History Month offers us an opportunity to learn about some wonderful leaders and fantastic musicians. Check out Ella Fitzgerald, a true jazz legend, singing her version of A Tisket A Tasket.
First grade and kindergarten students can share how they play this game song and act out the parts of the cat and the mice.
Get up and move! It's important to stay fit and healthy even while we are at still at home . Try out the video activity below to run in place, stretch down to touch toes, jump and clap along with the beat.
Try out the Musication video below. This is perfect for practicing your music skills while at home. First, choose one shape from the four at the bottom of the screen. Next pick any item--- an empty soup can, or a pot lid-- and tap it with a pencil. Or snap, clap or tap a table to create your "instrument". Try to only play when the dropping "notes" hit the white divider. Have fun!
Here is a throwback to a really fun activity that the kids enjoyed a lot when we played along with the conductor mice earlier this year. We used the different instruments, but if you don't have an instrument handy, just clap or snap or stomp your feet along with the music.
We have been working on learning to sing music together, with and without accompaniment, since the beginning of the year. Click on the links below to hear some of our songs.
